Before you can get to the vision of a new construction project, there is a lot of work that has to be done beforehand. One thing about a construction site is that there is a lot of behind-the-scenes work to be done before a contractor can even step one foot on the project site. They have to get permits and insurance, contractors are in place, bid on the job, and survey the land to make sure there aren’t any underlying problems with the blueprints, lawyers, plumbing, electrical, foundation, walls, etc.
The construction company can run into underlying conditions and those underlying issues that have not been confronted yet in our lives must be dealt with. You will be challenged to do the work to be free from what has caused you so much pain. You will have to look at each situation in the face and embrace the pain. You will confront it in order to get over it and start your emotional healing journey. Feel the pain so that you can heal. You may need a land surveyor to help you to survey your life and your heart to dig out all of that pain. Are you ready to transform all of that pain into purpose?
What in the world does a construction site have to do with emotional healing? Well, let me tell you what the two have in common. The majority of the time, a construction site is a mess with equipment, vehicles, supplies, employees, tools, dirt, pipes, and noise. We can be all dressed up on the outside, put on a smile, and go through life as if we have it all together, but down on the inside, we can be a total mess. We have to get rid of the negative people in our lives. We must get rid of the voices in our head that we are not of value and shut out the noise. We must get rid of limiting beliefs. We must get rid of the lies we have believed all of our lives. The project manager stays on schedule to complete the project and anticipates the completion of the project and the beautiful site that is yet to unfold but sometimes there are setbacks. If you are in that place of needing to go under construction to achieve a major transformation in your life you are right on track because you acknowledge the fact that you must do something in order to make it happen. God will give you beauty for your ashes!
Once a contractor has the go-ahead to begin working on the project, they must make sure to have the right tools, equipment, trucks, and employees. The contractor will begin with the foundation. The foundation is very important to any project. If it is not laid properly, it can cause major problems and the job will have to be redone. There may be some issues underground that have to be dug up. There may be some issues in your life that have to be uprooted by God’s power.
I am reminded of a time when my home would always back up in the basement at least 2-3 times a year. Needless to say, this was not a pretty sight, nor did it smell good. We finally got it repaired. The process to repair a sump pump that kept backing up was to have our whole front yard dug up and there were rotted pipes and tree roots growing every which way. It was not until we confronted the problem and fixed it that the problem went away. We used a temporary fix for years and slapped a Band-Aid on the problem. My husband would have to rent a snake to clear up the clog but it was not getting to the root of the matter. We no longer have to clean up our basement continuously due to the pipes backing up.
That is how some people go through life. They know that there are underlying issues in their life but refuse to confront them. It brings up terrible memories, it’s too painful to process, they may be fearful or they just tuck it away only to find out that it keeps coming up again. Let’s put a stop to the backup in your life and confront the issue.
