At End Your Year Strong, Chanel E. Martin of KBN Magazine sat down with Nona Jones, a global thought leader known for seamlessly integrating faith and business. In a dynamic conversation, Nona shared profound insights on the importance of identity, the difference between sight and vision, and how to stay grounded in faith while pursuing bold goals. Her practical advice provided a roadmap for stepping confidently into 2025 with clarity and purpose.
When asked about maintaining faith in high-pressure environments, Nona emphasized the foundational role of identity. “When you know who you are, no matter what space you walk into, you walk in as that person,” she said. She cautioned against succumbing to external pressures or comparisons. “Sometimes we succumb to pressure because we’re trying to become something we’re not, measuring ourselves against others. But when you know who you are, you can walk into any space, no matter who is in the room, and stand confidently in your truth.”
Nona acknowledged that many struggle with identity, a challenge she believes is rooted in spiritual warfare. “The devil’s number one tactic is to get us confused about our identity,” she said. “If he can cause you to question your worth and value, you’ll look to people, situations, and opportunities to define you.” Drawing on Jeremiah 1:5, she reminded listeners of their divine purpose. “Before the sperm met the egg, you had purpose. Before your mother knew your father, you had worth. Anything that contradicts that truth is a lie from the pit of hell.”
The conversation shifted to practical steps for turning vision into action in 2025. Nona highlighted the difference between sight and vision. “Sight is the ability to perceive obstacles, constraints, and limitations. Vision, on the other hand, allows us to see beyond those limitations and activate the potential God has placed within us,” she explained. “When you truly believe that you are a son or daughter of the Most High God, there’s no vision too big for what God has created you to do.”
For those struggling to move past the obstacles they see, Nona offered a faith-filled perspective. “Obstacles are opportunities for God to prove His power,” she said. She encouraged recognizing challenges but reframing them as stepping stones. “Our God takes stumbling blocks and makes them stepping stones. What seems like a block can actually become the foundation of your testimony.”
Chanel followed up by asking how to keep vision clear when obstacles cloud perception. Nona advised turning challenges into prayer points and testimonies. “Take inventory of the obstacles because they will be the ground for your testimony later. This thing should have stopped me, but because God is all-powerful, it didn’t.”
Nona’s words were a powerful reminder that faith, identity, and vision are interconnected. As attendees prepare to enter 2025, her message was clear: knowing who you are in Christ is the key to overcoming challenges and fulfilling your God-given purpose. “You serve the creator of the universe who spoke into nothing and created everything. That’s the God you serve,” she affirmed.
Nona’s insights resonated deeply with the End Your Year Strong audience, leaving them inspired to embrace their identity, pursue bold visions, and turn obstacles into opportunities for God’s power to shine.
