How has your faith influenced your leadership style and decision-making throughout your career in Human Resources?
Faith plays a central role in my leadership style as I strive to model Christ by leading with integrity, compassion, and purpose. I draw inspiration from Daniel, who was known for his excellence and sound judgment even while serving in captivity. I aspire to be a person of prayer, using insights from God to influence the spaces I occupy and help those around me.
Can you elaborate on the mission of The 2080 Experience and Momentum, and how they help individuals discover and pursue purpose-filled careers?
The 2080 Experience guides individuals in aligning their passions with purpose, giving them a competitive advantage to excel in their careers. We provide HR strategies that promote work as a platform for showcasing and excelling in purpose, offering services like resume curation, interview prep, organizational design, and leadership development.
Momentum is a Christ-centered teaching ministry and non-profit focused on holistic growth—mind, body, and soul—aiming to transform lives and communities through marketplace workshops, Bible studies, prayer calls, and more. Both organizations are committed to helping people pursue careers that are not only successful but also deeply fulfilling and aligned with their personal values.
What strategies do you use to align people’s career paths with both business goals and their personal faith values?
With my background in Organizational Development, I’ve created a tool called the purpose-filled assessment. This tool measures a client’s natural skills and gifts, while also identifying areas of pain and passion. The intersection of our gifts and areas of discontentment often points us toward our purpose.
In your extensive HR career, what has been the most challenging situation you faced, and how did your faith guide you through it?
The most challenging situations involve witnessing unethical policies and corporate politics that disadvantage marginalized groups. In these moments, I rely on my faith to discern when and how to approach those in power to influence change. Sometimes, this requires private counsel and correction, like Nathan, and other times, courageous action, like Daniel and Esther.
What advice would you give to young professionals who are trying to integrate their faith with their career aspirations, especially in leadership roles?
I advise young professionals to “POP”: Pray, Observe, and Pursue. Start each day and decision with prayer, as consulting God will always lead to the best solution. Observe, as listening often teaches you more than speaking. Finally, pursue—many miss out on the next level because they don’t take action. Go after the opportunities, promotions, and your dreams.
