Many of you are waiting on the Lord to answer your prayers. You have been calling on Him for a financial breakthrough. You have been calling on Him to fix your marriage. You have been calling on Him about the situation on your job. You have been calling on Him to fix that wayward child. You are wondering if He hears you. If He hears your cry. Well, guess what? He hears you. He does hear your cry. He hears every prayer request. He sees every tear you shed. He hears you. But while you have been waiting on God. He has been waiting on you. That’s right. He’s been waiting for you. He’s been waiting for you to activate your faith. The word activate has a three-letter word in it. That word is ACT. God has been waiting for you to ACT.
You see, many of us think that if we pray about it. That if we go to God about our situation. That if we call on the Master, then that is it. We feel that is all we must do. We say well, I have done my part. Now I just sit back and wait on God to answer my prayer. Well, it’s not. You need to ACT. When we ACT, then God will reACT. He is not going to make a move until we do. You are thinking, but wait I turned it over to God to work it out. Isn’t that what the song says: turn it over to Jesus, and He will work it out? You think you just drop it in His lap, and He does all the work, and you just stand idly by and let Him do it. That is not how it works. In order to get God to reACT you are going to have to change your mindset. You need to alter your thinking. When we were growing up and whenever something happened, our mom and dad would fix it for us. They would jump in and repair every booboo. They would stand up for us if someone did something against us. They would fight that bully for us. But as you got older, they began to allow you to fix things on your own. They did so by giving you guidance on what to do. Guidance of knowledge and strength. They gave you instructions. They made sure you had everything you needed to fight any battle that came your way. Our Heavenly Father does the very same thing. He protects us and takes care of us. But He also makes sure we are girded up to be able to fight our battles. Changing our mindset to understand that we don’t just drop it in God’s lap and say okay, God, it’s on you. It’s understanding and knowing that He has given us the tools to help us fight the battle.
When you change your mindset and realize you have been equipped to fight the battle, the battle is not as hard as you thought it was. You are probably asking yourself, “How do I change my mindset”? In order to fight the battle, you need the Word of God. You change your mindset by girding yourself up with the Word of God. To do this, you have to read the Word of God every day. You have to eat, sleep, and drink it. You have to mediate on it. You have to hide it in your heart and profess it with your lips. When you need healing you speak the Word of God over your body. When your child has gone astray. You speak the Word of God over your child. When things are a little crazy on the job. You speak the Word of God over your job. Gird yourself up and SPEAK THE WORD over your situation.
Once you have changed your mindset and you begin to meditate on the Word of God, and you begin to speak the Word over your situation. You take another step. The next step is to trust and believe in God. Hold Him at His Word. You have to believe that God is going to answer your prayer. You have to believe that late in the midnight hour, He heard your cry. You have to believe that He hears you. Because action without faith does not work. If you are reading the Word of God and speaking the Word of God. Then you must also trust and believe the Word of God you are reading and speaking. You must trust and believe in God. You must believe in the Heavenly Father. Mark 11:22-24 says 22 “Have faith in God.” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, go throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (NIV) Change your mindset.
Changing your mindset. Speaking the Word of God over your situation. Trusting and believing God is ACTivating your faith. You must ACT. God is waiting on you to ACT, beloved. He’s waiting on you to do your part. So just crying out to Him is not all that you do. You have to do more than just that. Job 22:28 says, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee…” ASV. The NIV says, “What you decide on will be done…” You must ACTivate your faith and speak God’s Word over your situation. You have to decide if you are going to trust and believe Him or not. You cannot just sit and wait on Him to move without doing your part. God always has your back, but He needs you to trust Him and believe that He has your back. Believe that He has it all under control. Beloved, that is where your faith comes into play. You have to decree a thing. You must have faith. You have to believe that you’re the head and not the tail. That you’re above and not beneath. That you are blessed coming in and going out. You have to believe that you are a King’s Kid, the apple of God’s eye. You have to believe that He will never leave you nor forsake you. You have to believe that He has all power in His hands. You have to believe He is Jehovah Jireh “My Provider”. You have to believe today. You have to stand on God’s Mighty Word. You have to ACTivate your faith. You have to use the tool that God has given you. You have to read His Word…the Bible. You have to read the Word of God. You have to make it a part of your lifestyle. You have to make it a part of everything that you do. You have to declare and decree a thing…speak the Word today. When you stand on His Word, miracles happen. When you stand on His Word, He will make a way out of no way. Whatever the situation is. Whatever you are going through. No matter how big. No matter how small. Stand on His Mighty Word today. Gird yourself up and activate your faith and watch our God move mountains.
