If I love you and you love me. Why do I fear you? Why won’t you let me check you in love as my brother’s or sister’s keeper? Why won’t you let me sharpen you? Iron sharpens iron, right? Don’t we want to be the best we can be? When it comes to being accountable to one another that’s a problem for some, especially in the church. There is safety in the multitude of counselors.
The only one we are to fear is God. We aren’t even supposed to fear God like we do in the natural with terror. We are to have awe and respect. A profound reverence and respect for God. “We love Him because He first loved us”, I John 4:19.
We make a man a mini-god over us, we unintentionally make others idols and don’t even know it. If anyone can change your mood or attitude when they come into your presence. You have given them power over you. You have to address that issue, you have to confront it, you have to speak to it, and stop being full of fear.
We should not be afraid of one another. Children of God, children of the most High God, sisters in Christ. We are to be rooted and grounded in love. It’s your responsibility to fix it. My witness is Matthew 18; if you have an ought. “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe”, Proverbs 29:25 NKJV.
“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin”, James 4:17 NKJV. I know I should let it go, I know I should forgive it, I know I should go to them.
If you are afraid of anything or anyone how are you going to subdue it? We are to subdue the earth right? We are dust, right? We are the earth. We are to subdue ourselves and not let our flesh keep us in fear. The devil is a liar, murderer, sower of discord, adversary, cunning, wicked, malignant (totally evil), cowardly, a tempter, a thief, without principles, proud, deceitful, fierce and cruel, aggressive, and a destroyer.
“Whoever is a partner with a thief hates his own life; He swears to tell the truth, but reveals nothing”, Proverbs 29:24 NKJV. Have you partnered with the devil today? Have you believed the enemy’s lies about someone else? Have you been deceived? Is there a wedge between you and another believer?
John 10:10 NKJV) “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.” What kind of life are you living in fear? What have you allowed the enemy to steal, kill and destroy in your life?
Job 1:1 NKJV) “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.” Job 3:25-26 NKJV) “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me. I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest, for trouble comes.”
As I was meditating on Job’s statement. “The thing I have feared has come up on me. As a man thinketh so is he. Satan can’t read our minds. I believe Job must have spoken those words to someone. His wife or his friends. When he spoke those words they were in the atmosphere waiting to be manifested but Satan couldn’t do anything without God’s permission first. Have you considered my servant Job? I challenge you today to take a look within and ask yourself what have you spoken over your life. The words we speak give Satan access to our lives. Now the enemy has something to work with. The enemy can only use our past against us and what we have spoken. He can tempt us in our minds and we sit there and agree with him. Ask yourself these questions to see if fear has set in.
What has the thief stolen from me?
Do I have peace?
Do I have joy?
Have I ignored my body, health, and doctors?
Why do I fear?
Where did this thought come from?
Why is my mind so negative?
What am I afraid of?
Have I spoken fear over my life?
Do I project my fear to my children?
Do I speak fear over them?
Why do I self-sabotage myself?
Why am I afraid to go for it?
Did you find yourself on this list somewhere? Now, let’s look at what God says about the matter. Here are some Scriptures to meditate on and speak them over your life with authority.
Psalm 56:3 NKJV) “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You”. “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears”. Psalm 34:4 NKJV
“For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you”, Isaiah 41:13 NKJV.
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you”, I Peter 5:7 NKJV.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me”, Psalm 23:4 NKJV.
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble”, Psalm 46:1 NKJV.
“I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust”, Psalm 91:2 NKJV.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1 NKJV.
“Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident”, Psalm 27:3 NKJV.
“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”, Psalm 118:6 NKJV.
“Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;” Proverbs 3:25 NKJV.
“For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught”. Proverbs 3:26 NKJV.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.,” Proverbs 9:10 NKJV.
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand”,’ Isaiah 41:10 NKJV.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34 NKJV
Isaiah 41:13 NKJV) “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.”
The only one we are to fear is God. Not that we are sitting around waiting for God to strike us for doing wrong. If we know who God is, that is not His character. God is a loving God and we are His children. We are to be in awe of His majesty and power. This is the starting point of wisdom. God wants what is best for us.
A Prayer to Conquer Fear:
Fear
According to I Timothy 1:7 NKJV) “God has not given me a spirit of fear. He has given me a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind”. I cast out the spirit of fear and every type of fear, in Jesus’ name. I command fear to flee from my life now. Spirit of fear go right now, in Jesus’ name! I say that I am free of all fear.
Anguish
Jesus, you are the good shepherd and you provide healing for my soul. I invite your healing power into my mind right now. I call upon the Lord Jesus, my healer. I release your healing power over every bit of anguish in my emotions. I command stress, anxiety, fear, torment, and every bit of anguish to go from me, in Jesus’ name! I break the power of every evil spirit trying to create anguish in my emotions.
“He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds”, Psalms 147:3 NKJV.
Anxiety
I am not anxious. My mind is fixed on good things. I set my mind and attention on the things of God. Provision is mine, in Jesus’ name! I have an abundant supply and I am not concerned over supply. Jesus is my Savior, so I am not anxious about my destiny. I give my family over to God and therefore am not anxious about my family. I have been granted power and authority over all demon powers. I command every spirit of anxiety to go from me, in Jesus’ name! Leave now, in Jesus’ name. I walk in supernatural peace.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”, Philippians 4:6 NKJV.
Condemnation
I receive my full adoption and inheritance as a child of God. I am not condemned. I will not partner with a condemning spirit. My Bible says that I am accepted in the beloved. Mind, you are accepted, so quit entertaining rejection and condemnation. I cast those thoughts down. I break condemnation and command it to go from me, in Jesus’ name.
“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”, Romans 8:1 NKJV.
Death
I am called to reflect the life of God! I am filled with God’s nature and His life. I am free from the law of sin and death. I will live a long life. The Lord satisfies me with long life. I break every spirit of death and command it to go from me, in Jesus’ name!
“With a long life I will satisfy him, And let him see My salvation”, Psalms 91:16 NKJV.
Healing Prayer
I confess that God’s healing power is working in my body now! Lord, you sent your Word and healed every disease that would try to attack me. I am the healed of the Lord. Thank you, Lord, that every system, every cell, every muscle, every fiber, every tissue, and every organ in my body is healed. I command disease and sickness to go from me now, in Jesus’ name! I walk in divine health.
“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses.
He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destruction”, Psalms 107:19-20 NKJV
Spirit of Fear come up and come out in Jesus’ name!
When you become fearless the possibilities are limitless with what God will do in you and through you!
